Bye Bye Jonny
Hi there!
Thanks for visiting our game page.
You're transferred to a new school mid-semester. No friends. No reputation. No car. On the first day, Johnny — the most feared street racer in the region — notices you. Not by chance: you know engines, and he needs a partner. Your friendship starts as a silent transaction.
But Johnny carries something no one sees. His father died two years ago, right there in the garage. The same garage Johnny now keeps alive alone — and that's slowly dying alongside him.
As the months pass, Johnny starts to change. The songs he asks for grow slower. The tools in the garage rust. The wins lose their taste. And you have to decide: keep reaping the benefits of this friendship — the popularity, the status, the belonging — or give it all up to be there for him.
The game won't tell you what's happening. It's up to you to pay attention.
This game was developed for The Artists Tavern Game Jam - Summer'26. It was inspired by the Brazilian song "Dezesseis" by Legião Urbana. Its plot addresses sensitive mental health themes, including depression, suicide and loss.
If you are struggling or experiencing emotional distress, please seek support from a trusted person or a crisis helpline in your region.
The Game Jam theme was "let chance decide," addressed in this game through a wordplay. At the same time, the player's actions are governed by RNG, but the player character (Chance) can decide Jonny's fate.
